7 Ways to Make Money from Advertisements
1. Making Money from Ads through Blogging
Blogging is one of the most popular ways to earn money from ads. Beyond that, it plays a crucial role in enriching, building, and improving the content available on the internet.
What is Blogging?
Simply put, blogging involves writing posts (articles or topics) on specific subjects and publishing them on a blog, which then appears on search engines (and the internet in general).
For example, you can write an article (like the one you’re reading now) about a particular field (technology, finance, business, sports, health, cooking, etc.), structure it properly (main title, subheadings, paragraphs, images, or even videos), and publish it on your blog. Once published, it becomes accessible on the internet (if you allow it).
What is a Blog?
Think of a blog as a type of website (you are currently on one, and most likely found this article through a web search).
blog is a form of a website where posts on specific topics are written and published. Blogs are characterized by frequently updated content, with posts arranged in reverse chronological order (newer posts appear at the top, while older ones move down).

How to Make Money Blogging?
Once you’ve created a blog, published a good number of posts, and met the necessary requirements, you can monetize it in various ways. The most common method is through advertising.
After establishing your blog, you can sign up for an ad program once you meet the criteria. Google AdSense is one of the most well-known ad programs. You’ll create an account, submit your site (blog) for review, and, once approved, receive ad codes (programming scripts) to place in desired locations on your blog.
Ads will appear in the places you’ve designated, and every time someone visits your blog and interacts with those ads, you earn revenue.

2. Make Money From Ads With YouTube
Above, we mentioned the Google AdSense program, which is owned by Google (you can tell from the name). YouTube is also owned by Google. You can earn money from the same program by owning a channel on the YouTube platform.
How Do I Earn Money with Google AdSense Through YouTube?
Have you ever watched a video where an ad appeared before, during, or at the end of the video, or perhaps all three? The creator of that video earns money from the ad views generated by viewers like you.
How Do I Start Earning on YouTube?
To start earning, you need to create your own YouTube channel. But before that, you’ll need to choose a niche for your videos and the language you’ll use. You can select a niche based on your interests, skills, or something you can excel in.
For example, you can choose fields like gaming, sports, fictional or real-life stories, horror stories, reactions, cooking, technology, and more.
The most important thing is to pick a niche that is in demand and attracts viewers. Other aspects to focus on include your speaking style, video quality, editing, and more. You might also need to learn video editing (montage) skills.
Once you’ve started your channel and begun uploading videos, you’ll need to achieve a total of at least 4,000 watch hours and 1,000 subscribers. There are additional requirements, which you can learn about in Google’s articles: “How to Earn Money on YouTube”, “YouTube Channel Monetization Policies”. After meeting these requirements, you can apply for the AdSense program and start earning.
Other Ways to Earn on YouTube
AdSense isn’t the only way to make money on YouTube. There are several other methods, which you can explore in this article: “Top 15 Ways to Make Money on YouTube.”
3. Earn money from ads through applications
You might be a game or app developer, or perhaps you’re considering starting to learn app programming. The games and apps you design and develop can also generate income through ads. This can be achieved using Google’s program called Google AdMob (I’m not sure if there are other similar programs).
Even if you don’t know anything about programming or are not particularly interested in this field but still want to create apps to earn money, don’t worry. The word “beginner” in the title above wasn’t written by chance; you can actually create apps without learning programming.
Although programmers might have the upper hand here (which is logical), thanks to advancements in platforms, systems, and tools, it has become possible to create apps without needing any programming knowledge.
A) How Can Programmers Earn Money from Ads?
After finishing your app or game design, you will allocate spaces and determine how the ads will appear. Next, you’ll need to visit the Google AdMob website and sign up for the program. You’ll then link it to your app, which must be published on an app store (of course, you’ll need to publish it on a download platform).
Once this is done, you’ll create an ad unit on Google AdMob and embed it into your app. Every time a user (who has downloaded your app) interacts with it and ads appear, you’ll earn revenue from those ad impressions.
B) How Can Non-Programmers Earn Money from Ads?
There are several platforms and tools that allow you to create apps, each with its own features and drawbacks. Here are some examples:
Reverse Engineering:
This method involves modifying existing apps, but I personally consider it to be stealing the efforts of other developers. I’ve also heard (if my memory serves me correctly) that Google will close your account and remove your app from their platform if they discover you’re using this method. For this reason, I neither recommend nor support it.
No-Code Platforms:
There are platforms (websites) that provide easy-to-use systems for creating apps without dealing with programming codes. These platforms allow you to build functional apps without needing any coding knowledge.
4. Earn money from ads with AdSense Arbitrage
You may have heard about AdSense arbitrage before or maybe not. Using arbitrage involves generating earnings through Method 1 above (earning from a blog) or perhaps through Method 2 (earning from YouTube) as well (possibly). This means you’re already making money from AdSense ads.
What Role Does AdSense Arbitrage Play?
Arbitrage helps you increase the earnings you get from your blog. Simply put, it allows you to earn more from an article that already generates a certain amount of profit.
For example, let’s say one of the articles on your blog brings in $5 daily. By using arbitrage, you can increase this to $10, $20, or even more, all from the same article.
How Does Arbitrage Work?
In arbitrage, you promote your articles through advertising campaigns on social media platforms, websites, and other channels. Your goal is to attract as many visitors as possible through these campaigns. You spend money on this promotion, which, in turn, boosts the earnings you generate from AdSense.
Essentially, you spend money on promotion to bring in more visitors, which contributes to higher blog revenue.
The Goal of Arbitrage
Your goal is to spend money on promotion and ensure that the additional revenue you earn exceeds your promotional costs.
For instance, let’s say your blog earns a stable daily profit of $20 without any promotion. Then, you decide to run an ad campaign on a platform (a website or app) and spend $10 per day.
To break even, you’ll need to earn at least $31 on the day of promotion. This includes:
- The $20 stable earnings your blog generates daily.
- The $10 was spent on promotion.
- An extra $1 profit to consider the campaign successful.
- However, a $1 profit might not feel worth the effort.
This is just an example. You could earn an additional net profit of $10, $20, $30, $40, or even more from your promotional campaigns. The key is knowing how to run effective ad campaigns while paying attention to other factors such as:
- The quality of your article.
- The niche you’ve chosen.
- The language and countries you’re targeting.
When you master arbitrage, it’s likely you’ll generate excellent profits. However, if you don’t know how to manage it properly, you may end up losing money instead.

5. Create and design ads
In the previously mentioned methods, you earn money from ads displayed on your visual or written content or within an app. Here, however, you will be the one creating and designing the ads to make money from selling them.
How Does It Work?
Let’s assume you can create banners or images with text and shapes, or you have skills and experience in design using tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, Whiteboard animation, and others. In this case, you can design ads and sell them to others for a set price, essentially earning money by offering this service.
Selling services online is one of the ways to make money on the internet, and it’s not limited to ad design. You can also earn by offering other services, such as logo design, graphic design, website development, marketing, writing and translation, programming, and more.
If You Have Ad Design Skills, Where Can You Offer Your Services?
There are several platforms where you can showcase your services, such as Fiverr, Upwork, and others.
Fiverr and Upwork are two popular global platforms for selling services.
How Do I Get Started?
- Create an account on one or more of these platforms.
- Set up your profile and showcase the service(s) you want to offer.
- When someone browses the platform, likes your skill, and decides to purchase your service, they will pay you for it.
- You’ll then complete their request and deliver it to them.
What Can You Design in the Advertising Field?
Some examples include:
- Social media ads.
- Banner ads.
- Promotional video design (motion graphics + whiteboard animations).
- And more.
6. Earn money from e-marketing
In the AdSense Arbitrage method mentioned earlier, you promote your articles to attract visitors, which helps increase your ad revenue on your blog. Here, the concept is somewhat similar.
What is E-Marketing?
E-marketing (or Digital marketing) involves using all electronic means for promotion. This includes marketing through social media platforms, email marketing, website marketing, and other internet-based methods.
Sometimes referred to as online marketing or digital advertising, it encompasses various strategies to promote products, services, or content using the internet.
How to Make Money with Digital Marketing?
Digital marketing is a vital skill for anyone who wants to increase their online income or generate profits through internet-based activities. Learning and mastering this skill will enable you to earn in various ways, including e-commerce, offering services, arbitrage, and more.
In the context of this discussion, however, we’re focusing on marketing something online through ad campaigns.
The “something” you’ll promote could be:
- Articles or videos you earn from.
- Products or services you sell.
- Or anything else that benefits you financially.
In essence, this means creating advertisements that attract visitors or customers, enabling you to generate revenue from them.
Who Can Benefit From E-Marketing?
This method is ideal for individuals or businesses engaged in:
- Online ventures like e-commerce.
- Blogging.
- Affiliate marketing.
- Freelancing.
- Even startups or established companies looking to attract clients, increase website traffic, or promote brand awareness.
Summary: you create an advertisement for a specific purpose and promote it in one place to increase your earnings elsewhere.
7. Earn money by watching ads
Making money by watching ads is a method often discussed and explained, and it has gained some popularity, especially since it involves only watching advertisements (a simple concept).
From what I’ve seen, there isn’t a website that will pay you solely for watching ads. Most websites operate in a way that involves performing specific tasks integrated with ads.
For example:
- Watching a video that displays ads from time to time.
- Participating in surveys that embed ads within the survey pages.
- Or something similar.
I haven’t dealt with many of these websites to confirm whether they provide ads purely for viewing purposes. However, based on what I know, if those websites use the AdSense program, Google requires content on a website before approving ads to be displayed.
Let’s Chat for a Moment
Companies and individuals spend money on advertisements to attract visitors, customers, or achieve other benefits. So, would anyone pay for ads just so people could watch them without any further action? And is there a program that even allows this? If a website runs ads for itself, how does it benefit from that?
From my perspective: You might earn a small amount of money, but it won’t be enough for you. For instance, I created an account on a survey site that displayed many ads. Over nearly two years, I only managed to earn $16.1260. (It was more of a survey site than a platform for watching ads.)
That’s why, whenever I hear about “earning money by watching ads,” it feels more like a scheme by a website to make a lot of money while offering its users minimal earnings.
I don’t recommend anyone use websites that claim to pay you for watching ads. Even if they do, the earnings will be negligible.
Instead, I encourage you to explore the six methods mentioned earlier, which are far more effective. I wouldn’t advise you to rely on this method.
Note: If you mean earning money by having others watch ads, there’s a different method called earning from link shorteners, which we can consider as the eighth method.
Conclusion:
These are the most prominent, best, and widely known ways to make money from online ads. They range from methods that can help you build your own online business to ways that allow you to monetize your skills and to methods (like the last one) that I don’t understand why people follow in the first place.
