For the purposes of this discussion, we’re focusing on writing related to the internet. Naturally, you won’t be writing on the internet using a pen (though you could, if you wanted to, in some cases).

Based on the methods we know, use, or that are relevant to our topic, we’ve categorized them into 8 ways to earn money online. (Technically, there are 10 headings, with the last one containing multiple methods, as well as a section on implementing these methods in the real world.)

1. Make Money Blogging (Job)

If you’ve never heard of blogging before, it is the process of writing on a website called a blog (a type of website).

To clarify further: You are currently on a blog reading a blog post (article) that I wrote. I am a blogger, and I work in the field of blogging. I write articles and publish them online, and, of course, I earn money from it.

In this case (the job), your role will be to work as a blogger (writing articles) for one of the websites owned by others.

You’ll write articles for someone else’s blog, whether it belongs to an individual, a company, or an organization. They will pay you a monthly salary as compensation for your work.

I’m not sure if there is a dedicated platform where you can showcase your interest in working for blogs. However, you can reach out to blog owners or search for blogs that are actively looking for writers to contribute to their content.

2. Make Money Blogging (Private business)

In this method, you’ll also write articles, but the difference is that you own the blog, and you are in control.

You’ll choose the niche for publishing and create your blog using one of the available tools, such as Blogger or WordPress. Then, you’ll publish articles on your chosen topic.

Creating and managing a blog doesn’t mean you need to be an expert in programming to get started. Nowadays, anyone can set up their blog, work on it, and start earning without dealing with complex coding. (In some cases, you might need to copy or tweak some code, but it’s straightforward with the help of tutorials on platforms like YouTube.)

Writing an article for your blog is similar to writing a text document on your computer using a writing programs.

Once you’ve set up your blog, you can monetize it in several ways. The most popular method is using an ad program, such as Google AdSense, which displays ads on your blog. You earn money based on visitor interactions with these ads.

This method works similarly to digital books but with an added step. Here, the books are printed and shipped to customers who purchase them. Platforms like Amazon (or similar platforms offering the same features) handle the printing and shipping process.

In the previous method, we discussed earning by creating and selling digital or printed books. However, you can also write and sell stories or short stories using any of the three previously mentioned methods.

I recently searched the Amazon marketplace and found numerous stories being sold there. You could write a short story for children or other audiences, upload it, and list it for sale.

5. Translation of articles and topics

Translation, as you may already know, is the process of converting text or speech from one language to another, from the source or original language (the one you encounter) to another language.

Since translation is usually driven by a specific purpose, in this case, the purpose is profit. If you are fluent in two or more languages, you can work as a translator, translating between the languages you know in both directions (e.g., from language A to B and vice versa).

Owning your own translation or writing business can often be more profitable than working as a writer or translator for a company or agency. Running your own business also gives you the flexibility to choose projects and hire freelance contractors when your workload is high.

To leverage your translation skills for profit, here are two main approaches:

A) Selling Services:

7. Freelance writing

We have mentioned or referred to them multiple times. In short: You can sign up and create an account on one of the freelancing platforms such as Fiverr, Upwork, Freelancer, or others.

After registering, you will create your profile to showcase the type of service you provide and set the price others will pay for this service.

For the Freelancer platform, you can search for people who are requesting the type of service you can offer. On other platforms, people will browse and search for services to purchase. If someone comes across your profile and requests your service, they will pay the money, and then you’ll communicate with them to deliver the service you are offering.

On these platforms, you can offer and request various types of services depending on your expertise, including writing and translation services.

It is worth noting that simply offering a service does not guarantee receiving orders, as you will be competing with others offering the same services, and you need to outperform them.

8. Posting on social media
